If you are a doctor, nurse, midwife, teacher or police officer you can lodge a verbal mandatory report by calling the Department for Child Protection’s Mandatory Reporting Service on free call 1800 708 704.

However, by law, you must also lodge a written report.  Please provide as much information as possible, as this will assist with the assessment of the child’s safety.

Non-mandatory reporters
If you are not a mandatory reporter, but you believe that a child is suffering child sexual abuse, or any other form of abuse (emotional, psychological, physical or neglect), please contact your local Department for Child Protection District Office.
